The company will foster environmental awareness and understanding to all employees, suppliers, sub contractors, shareholders and other stakeholders (including the public). Where practicable, the company will provide information and assistance to customers on environmental issues arising from its products and services. Raw Materials Wherever possible, raw materials are purchased from suppliers that have either ISO 9001-2000 accreditation or similar and conform to a published environmental and recycling policy. As a large purchaser of the raw material "paper", the company has in place very strict policies on which paper suppliers it is willing to procure from. We source paper from Mills that are FSC and PEFC certified, using wood that has been obtained from sustainable forest regions and in accordance with all environmental regulations and guidelines. All manilla envelopes we produce utilise 100% recycled paper; this is something that we try and encourage our customers to use at every opportunity. Manufacture Our production system has been developed to deliver maximum productivity from the efficient use of allocated resources and to recycle as much waste as possible. Where feasible, our print processes use water based ink; using an ink filtration unit we are able to cleanse all ink impurities from water so that it is suitable for reuse. In addition, all flexo print plates are water washed before storage, utilising a water purification unit to process any waste water prior to recycling or disposal. All paper waste from production is separated and sorted by quality to be sold and used for recycling. Last year we managed to recycle 1500 tonnes of paper, a figure we are continuously trying to improve. Office We have incorporated an office recycling scheme to encourage all employees to recycle, where possible, all stationery, general office and IT consumable waste. A. D.
